Register to Speak at a City Council Meeting

Members of the public may provide comments in-person at the meeting and remotely during the meeting. Those wishing to provide comments in-person at the meeting will be asked to submit a speaker card to the City Clerk. Those wishing to provide remote public comments during the meeting may do so by registering in advance using the electronic speaker registration form.

Important:

In Person Speakers: You may complete a speaker card at the meeting before the public comment period begins.

Remote Speakers: Pre-registration is required. If you do not register and only dial into the meeting phone number, you will only be able to listen to the meeting and will not be called to speak. 

How to Request to Speak Remotely

1. Click Register button below for the upcoming meeting.
2. Complete the speaker registration form.
3. Select Virtually
4. Select the agenda item you want to speak on, or choose Non-Agenda Public Comment.
5. Submit your form. You’ll receive a confirmation email with meeting instructions and next steps.
6. Please use the phone number and Meeting Code provided in the email, call into the meeting and join the speaker queue.
7. If you wish to speak on multiple items, you may remain connected to the meeting. There is no need to hang up and dial back in.

On the Day of the Meeting

• In Person:  Submit a speaker card to the City Clerk. Head to the podium when called to speak, and stay within the speaking time limit.
• By Phone: Call the number in your confirmation email. Once connected, you will be able to listen to the meeting live as it progresses. You’ll be prompted when it’s your turn to speak.

Please note: Calling into the meeting without completing the registration form will allow you to listen only and not participate in public comment. The phone number you enter on the registration form must match the phone number you use to call into the meeting. If the numbers do not match, you may not appear in the speaker queue.
